3 Months
- Hands are open
- Looks at fingers & watches hands
- Begins to calm him/herself
- Babbles or coes

- Tells of missing parts of a picture story book/song which has been heard many times
- Does what he/she is told independently
- Cleans up spill without reminders
- Waits at least two times for a turn
- Shows concern for others; ability to empathize
- Identifies words that rhyme

- Selects an items based on appearance, category, & function
- Names classes/categories of sorted objects
- Places 4 pictures in a sequence and tells story
- States characteristics and attributes of a place (ex. That elephant is bit, it is dark outside.)
- Stays with the group and refrains from following unknown people
- Accepts an altered routine when requested
- Tells first & last names of father and mother
- Stays on topic during conversation
- Follows defined rules whether an authority figure is present or not
- Draws recognizable face with eyes, nose & mouth
